Today's photo features Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, the same church we featured yesterday in the close up photo of the pumpkin patch. Today, we stand back a bit and show you the front yard of the church, located where Pisgah Church Road intersects with Battleground Avenue. The pumpkins will sit patiently, waiting for church-goers to finish with today's service. Soon, the lawn will be full of families selecting pumpkins to take home. As is common in church pumpkin patches, they have an awning on loan from a local funeral home-- George Brothers.
Mt. Pisgah used to have a church history published online; however, the link seems to have disappeared. When we featured them a few years ago, we learned that the congregation dates back to 1845 and that the original church was about a half a mile west from the current building. It is so nice know that this Greensboro religious community is 170 years old. Hopefully, Mt. Pigs will be around for several more generations and those pumpkins will continue to decorate the front lawn each autumn. Happy Sunday!
I like the look of the church.
