First Christian Church

First Christian Church is located just across the Guilford County Line, on Highway 150, in Forsyth County-- really close to Oak Ridge and Summerfield. It is one of those giant churches that attracts people of many ethnicities, backgrounds, and all walks of life. Approximately 1,300 people attend each Sunday and they have programs for all age groups. The church features has a contemporary worship style and, although they have multiple services, all three worship services are identical. You can even watch live from their website. Following the trend of many contemporary churches, First Christian is non-denominational.

First Christian is a casual church; many people even wear jeans to Sunday service. But, according to their website, they do expect members to be modest in their dress. The above building was built in 1989, is almost 11,000 sq. feet and, according to Zillow, located on a lot that is almost 5 acres. That is a lot of church! The above photograph was taken yesterday, when all was quiet on-site. If you stop by today or on Wednesday, you will see a very different side of this dynamic house of worship.
