The above photo was taken at the beginning of August, which is about the last time we can remember it raining in Greensboro. The location is the little alleyway beside Chakra's Salon and Mechelle's Resale Shoppe, just off 227 South Elm Street. We love the movement and the feeling of coming and going in this photo. To the left is a new bakery called The Table on Elm, in the former location of "Loaf Bakery" which was "Simple Kneads" before that.* This "grab and go" eatery is a satellite location of The Table in Asheboro. We haven't visited yet, but we hope to soon.
While we are out today, we'll probably head to the "yard sale" at Replacements, LTD, east of Greensboro of Mt. Hope Church Road. It will be fun to see what kind of china and crystal patterns are available at this great outdoor event, as well as who is on the hunt for what. At 5pm, we'll head down to the 600 block of South Elm Street where the Elsewhere Living Museum will have a ferris wheel, in the middle of the street, for all to ride. Finally, at 9pm PB and Java is hosting a poetry slam. Greensboro is starting to become a city that never sleeps. There is so much to do here!
On a completely different note, it has been a long time since we've participated in the meme, Weekend Reflections, but we're uploading this one. Meme participation increases the likelihood that people from other parts of the world will peek in on our great city!
* and remember Simple Kneads got its start in the original wing of Cheesecakes by Alex!
Beautiful reflection.

Bakeries are always well worth stopping in at. Hopefully you get some rain soon.
