Oak Hollow Lake was a busy place this past Tuesday night when the Masters' Team of High Point Rowing took their final row of the season. In the above photo, you see an 8-boat that just came in, while another is waiting patiently in the background. Summer is the perfect time for water sports and rowing is a great way to combine exercise with teamwork and camaraderie. For the final row of the session, four 8-boats raced. Some of the rowers have bad been rowing for two years and some had just finished their first race.
After the race, rowers and their families enjoyed a potluck dinner. Some people said their goodbyes and those who signed up for the summer session said "See you on the water next week." If you are going to be in town this summer still looking for a way to get some exercise, it might not be too late to give rowing a try. Imagine the feeling of power being behind the oar of a boat that is 62' long!
That water looks inviting.
