Summer is a time to enjoy the great outdoors.
The above vehicle was spotted at Friendly Center earlier this week in front of Great Outdoor Provision Company. Just seeing a kayak or canoe on top of a car screams "outdoor water adventure." The pretty blue sky we've had the last couple of days, as well as temperatures in the mid-80's add to the desire to be on the water. Being in the heart of the piedmont region, Greensboro is centrally located between the beach and the mountains. The people in this vehicle could be headed in either direction. Even better, maybe they are planning an adventure on one of Greensboro's own lakes.
You have one more day to plan a weekend water adventure-- if you haven't already. Lake Brandt, Higgins and Townsend are calling. If you go to High Point, Oak Hollow Lake is waiting; there, you just may see some rowers.
Happy Thursday! Happy summer (almost)!
They'll enjoy getting out on the water.

Kayaking is huge in central Florida, what with the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico just an hour and a half away east or west. Plus, we have thousands of lakes and rivers. I've done a little. Lois Anne would like to do much more. All the sporting goods stores have big sales on kayaks at the moment. But what I prefer is staying where there is dirt under my feet and taking photos of people who are out on the water. :)
