Saturday must have been dress day in downtown Greensboro. The four women above were seen on Greene Street, near the Carolina Theatre in the afternoon. The day was blustery and the camera shaky, but seeing four people in dresses/skirts was enough for us to take notice. The four were walking so quickly, we weren't able to catch up with them to find out why they were dressed up. They not only looked beautiful, but also seemed happy-- a winning combination.
At any moment, we expect Petula Clark to pop out of Washington street singing her 1960's song "Downtown," especially the part where she sings, "We can forget all our troubles, forget all our cares. So go downtown. Things will be great when you're downtown. Don't wait a minute more, downtown. Everything is waiting for you, downtown....."
Let's all have a dress day! What would you wear... downtown?
Must admit I do like to see dresses instead of jeans now and then :) I see what you mean about the Charlie Harper art Janis, very similar style.

I imagine they were on their way to some sort of formal function.

The swirl of skirt creates some lovely colour on the move in the streetscape.
