Hibachi Grill, at 362 South Elm Street serves Asian and Chinese food, meats and vegetables with Asian sauces. They have combos and bowls and serve food fast, without seeming like fast food. Many people opt to eat in, and when they do so, they are surrounded by a wall of brightly colored fish. While there is crab and shrimp on the menu, we didn't see any fish. When dining in, it does seem as if the fish are watching you eat.
Hibachi is a traditional Japanese heating device and the grills can be elaborate. In the USA, hibachi style food is often cooked with great fanfare from a knife wielding chef. While they don't cook at your table, the cooks behind the counter at Hibachi Grill work with great speed and efficiency in a way that busy downtowners demand. Your food is ready with the speed of a food truck. The man in the above photo, was taking a brief break from work. The counter help seemed to know him well and almost had his meal ready when he walked in the door. Even the fish on the wall seemed to recognize him!
A fascinating wall. I think I'd have to limit myself to things like egg rolls and chicken balls. I like Chinese food, but some years ago I had a really bad reaction to a meal.
