Easter was a bit rainy this year in Greensboro. Fortunately, the weather seemed to hold out in the first part of the day and; hopefully, you were able to do your church/family activities without getting wet. It is hard to believe that Passover isn't happening for another 3 weeks and that Orthodox Easter is not for a month. We'll have to mark our calendar for more pictures.
The above photo was taken on Friday in Brassfield Shopping Center off Battleground Avenue. If you look closely, you can see the roof of what was formerly Pizza Hut. The franchise still has locations in Greensboro; it seems this one just didn't make it. The Chick-Fil-A behind it is thriving and the Gold's Gym in this plaza, formerly a RUSH Gym, seems to be doing well. Unfortunately, the SRI Shoe Warehouse is closing in Brassfield. Hopefully, some of the energy from Midtown-Battleground Avenue will trickle up to Brassfield. It seems like a great location. We were there on Friday, mailing a package at Fed Express, and the stores seemed pretty busy.
Getting in the car, we were struck how the sun faded the parking lot and the white blossoms extended the pastel look into the sky. We really like the way something as simple as car roofs on an asphalt parking lot can be an interesting subject. (If you are a lover of photography, we'll share the we were inspired by this 1912 photo by Russian photographer Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky). Happy Monday!
it's such a beautiful time of year! hope you had a great easter!
