Today, we feature yet another "off the beaten path" photo. This photo is taken on West Lee Street/Gate City Boulevard near UNCG and on the edge of the Glenwood neighborhood. The steam stack in the photo is located on UNCG's campus, across the railroad tracks at Highland and Oakland Avenues. The red wall above is the back side of a tattoo parlor in the neighborhood.
This part of town is changing quickly, as UNCG expands across Lee Street and into the Glenwood community. For now, there are still remnants of a part of town that has been historically filled with local businesses. The color of the wall, with the bright blue sky as a background, provide another example of how we can find beauty off the beaten path. The area will look even more beautiful when the trees leaf out.
It's not easy making a tattoo parlor beautiful!

The steam stack reminds me of a couple of places here.
