A big thank you to all of you who take the time to decorate for the holidays!
Love,
Those of us who don't seem to make the time to do so.
The above display is found in Anthropologie's window in Friendly Center, beside the Apple Store. The lighter shades of pink are very close to one of Pantone's 2016 colors of the year, rose quartz- hence the title. The blue background is somewhat of a nod to the other color, serenity (blue).
If you know Anthropologie's window dresser, please ask her what inspired her when planning this display. Last we heard, the designer was Greensboro's own artist, the incredibly-talented, Paige Cox. How wonderful that a national chain uses a local artist to create seasonal looks and artful displays for the store. This window is brilliant and uplifting. Standing in front of it, one can imagine living in that cozy neighborhood somewhere in Greensboro- perhaps College Hill, Lake Jeanette, your neighborhood. Wonder what Paige was thinking...
Someone on Santa's naughty list suggested, instead of the title "Rose Quartz Christmas," we dub the window, "50 Shades of Pink." Happy, light-hearted Thursday, dear readers.
Dickensian.
