Sunday drives are so wonderful. Last Sunday, we were driving around Kirkwood and stumbled on this scene that looks like it could have been Greensboro from the 1950's. The old car (Bel-Air?), the house with a picket fence, a single car garage with a door that you have to open by hand, and, of course, a dog in the yard. This gentle giant, in true Great Dane style, watched our every move when we were on his turf. Of course he could have jumped over that fence in a heartbeat; but, we didn't bother him and he didn't bother us.
The setting sun was so beautiful that day. We hope you have a chance to get out this weekend and enjoy the beauty of our city. The people of Greensboro love their pets. If you want to make friends quickly, admire a pet and meet the owner. See if you can take a picture with no signs of the 21st century in it.
Speaking of the beauty of Greensboro:
My walk in the Greensboro Arboretum was one of the most uplifting experiences I had in a while. I let the sound of the giant wind chimes vibrate through my body, I listened to the birds chirping, the water of the creek rushing over stones and the rustling of the leaves. The sun warmed me up and all the people and pets that I encountered were very friendly!
I would encourage everybody to walk over the bridge on Wendover and feel the love and the wonderful community that the "Knit The Bridge" knitters have created!

I bet you won't believe that I had a '57 Bel Air--two toned (yellow and cream). Snazzy, don't you think?

Love the quizzical stare on this dog's face. What a wonderful chance to give a flashback in time some grounded reality.
