Fall and winter are perfect seasons for hay rides in North Carolina. The above hay ride was part of the fall festival at Bur-Mil Park. Adults and children of all ages enjoy sitting together and riding around on a trailer pulled by a tractor. It is one of those traditions of yesteryear that are still enjoyed today. It is really common for working farms, that are open to the public, to offer hayrides. Since Guilford is the top county (out of North Carolina's 100) for having horses, hay rides are especially popular here.
Even if there isn't a hay ride, children love hanging around farm equipment. For Halloween, Summerfield Farm had a tractor and tread event for Halloween. Online, there are 30 places listed that sale horse hay in the Greensboro area, so we're sure there is not shortage of hay in the area. Find a vehicle, buy some hay, invite some children, and you will be the hit of your neighborhood. Plus, you will be building memories that last a lifetime. If photos made sound, you would hear the joy resonating during the above hayride. Happy Thursday!
That is fun!
I remember a campground that had hay rides during the summer.
