Today's photo has multiple meanings. First, today is September 11th, a sad day of remembrance for Americans due to the multiple attacks on our country on this day in 2001. The American flag flying above the other two reminds us of the importance of honoring one's country. Also, the above fence, located in front of the historical museum, reminds us that LeBauer Park will soon be constructed on this site. Finally, today is the start of the National Folk Festival, held in Greensboro this weekend.
For more information about the folk festival, read more here. The lineup is tremendous with many of the performers already living in North Carolina yet with national fame. You will not be disappointed about the festival, especially if you ride the free bus into town and avoid driving in the vicinity. When we photograph downtown today, it will be brimming with spectators and performers. Greensboro is ready!
The architectural style of the museum appeals to me.
