Last Saturday was the 2015 Retro Run, held in downtown Greensboro at the Railyard and on Lewis Street. It was a "feelin' groovy" sort of day. Everyone was encouraged to don retro attire. Registered runners received giveaway tie-dye, peace-sign necklaces. There was even a $100 award for best retro attire. The only detail overlooked was the absence of shag carpeting at the finish line! Participators said that it was a lot of fun and that people watching while racing helped the time pass.
Equally fun to watch were the many canines who dressed for the occasion. The greyhound in the photo above may have been best of show. He was friendly to all, yet attentive to his owners. He seemed to love dressing up. His coat blended in with the sidewalk, making his rainbow attire pop even more. In the photo below, you see some of the human participants near the finish line beside Gibb's Hundred. Yes, many people in Greensboro love their dogs as well as the city's quirky details!
The dog certainly seems happy!
