That 24th letter of the modern English alphabet is not very popular. X is one of the most challenging letter of A-Z games and activities. French philosopher and mathematician, René Descartes, started the tradition of having X represent an unknown. So, for today's ABC Wednesday, A-Z Local, X is for the "unknown."
The above photo shows what is left of Anton's Restaurant in Irving Park. For decades, it was one of Greensboro's most beloved "go to" destinations for those special events in one's life. Today, is it X-ed; gone, gutted, and unknown. It is eerie to see the building as one drives by on Battleground/Lawndale and see this abandoned, ghost town. We're sure some people know what this building will house; we can't wait to see the new business take shape. As for now, X is for the unknown.
It's all about X. I did not know about it's origin. Thanks.

Excellent! I see that X inspires you to exercise some philosophy!
Have a great week!

Many pleasant meals and good memories at Cellar Anton. Sorry it's gone.

when I was young, I didn't mind X when playing scrabble, but not come too late in the game.
