Faith Action International House connects diverse groups of people across lines of culture and faith. The organization celebrates the cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity of Greensboro. According to their website, FaithAction International House began 15 years ago as an idea of Rev. Dr. Mark Sills and other community leaders. The inspiration comes from the diverse influx of immigrants in the community. Their headquarters, featured above, is located at 705 North Greene Street.
Some of the fine work FaithAction House does for the immigrant community includes: Legal assistance, language classes, computer and job readiness classes and healthcare. FaithAction work with the many faith communities of the immigrants they serve. They rely on volunteers; so, if it seems like something of interest to you, contact them at your earliest convenience and they'll put you to work. Happy Sunday!
We need more places like this (and probably less churches!)...they're doing some impressive things for the least among us. And as the Jesus of the gospels is reported to have said, taking care of the least among us should be our main concern of those who claim his name.
