Abandoned outbuildings and creeping wisteria are a couple of things you will see on the backroads of Greensboro. Wisteria is a tough, flowering plant in the pea family, originally from Asia. It looks so delicate and adds great texture to our local landscape. Rural buildings, from the last century, add nostalgia to the country scenery.
If you get a chance this weekend, head out in search of some of these beautiful scenes. The above photo was taken off of Highway 150. Another great public place to enjoy the out of doors is Bur-Mil Park. From Strawberry Road to Summerfield and back into Greensboro on the greenway is another great place to walk and bike. For those who are more city-oriented, tomorrow is First Friday and a large part of Elm Street will be blocked off for pedestrians.
It is lovely, and we don't see it in this part of the continent.
