Today's Sacred Sunday photo features the view of St. Francis Episcopal Church from Lawndale Drive. The grounds of the church are so beautiful, especially now, because they really capture the essence of Greensboro in the springtime. According to their website, the church was established as a mission of Holy Trinity in 1954 and became an independent parish in 1956. They held their first service in Irving Park Elementary School. The church holds as core values: Simplicity, compassion, and hope. The simplicity is evident in the rock wall, and to find the compassion and hope, one need only step inside and talk to the nice people who attend St. Francis.
We're betting that the church members are breathing a collective sigh of relief now that the book sale has ended. Hopefully, the book sale was a success as the church supports so many worthy causes in the community. Happy Sunday!
Pretty and peaceful!
