Running is a popular sport in Greensboro and our city has lots of great running events. The 5 Mile Run/Walk and 1 Mile Frolic took place a few weeks ago with the starting and ending point at the Old Town Draught House on Spring Garden Street. From police to healthcare professionals, plenty of people were on site to ensure the well-being of the participants. The man in the foreground worked diligently to help sore and fatigued runners.
With First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" and "Gimme 5" challenges, even K-12 students are talking about ways to make healthier choices. Can you name five things that you are doing to eat better, be more active, and lead a healthier life? Let's all work together to help our friends and loved ones be fit for life. Let us at GDP know if your organization in Greensboro is sponsoring a healthful living event and we'll try to get by to photograph it. We love meeting our readers and helping them promote events. Every day comes around pretty often and we're always looking for things to feature! Happy weekend!
We see a lot of events like this here through the spring to fall- and a couple of our parkways along the canal get closed down on Sunday mornings for walkers and runners.
