Peace Garden is located behind Collins Grove Methodist Church on Lewiston Road, near Fleming Road. On this side of the church, the scene is as peaceful as the Garden of Gethsemane. To the right of the church, there is a dollar store; representing the dichotomies that often appear when areas change from rural to suburban. We elected to stay to the right, in Peace Garden at the bench, dedicated to Ann R. Melton. Indeed, the garden is peaceful.
The purple color on the cross represents pain and suffering, foreshadowing death. Soon, it will be replaced with a white cloth to represent resurrection. With so many people off for the Good Friday holiday, today, Greensboro's streets will be quieter. We hope you have a few moments of solitude today. For those who celebrate Easter, likely you are involved in church activities. For those looking for other things to do, remember that it is First Friday downtown. The Davie-Elm Street corridor will be hopping; hippity hopping.
Very peaceful. I spent a portion of yesterday attending an Anglican service.
