Happy Easter 2015! Today, we are featuring one of the stained glass windows at Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. It stretches almost the height of the façade of the building. According to the cornerstone of the building, the church was organized in 1899 and the present building was erected in 1963; and, it has been renovated since then. Unfortunately, the stained glass windows aren't visible from the sanctuary; however, if you stand on the stairs to the balcony, you can appreciate them in all their glory. We're sure there is a great story behind them and, quite possibly, it can be found in their extensive online history (available here).
Reading the detailed history is on our "to do" list. As for now, we'll enjoy their beauty and hope one of the members will share some of the history. If you are looking for a church to join and friendly people and great music are part of your requirements, you will love Friendly Avenue Baptist Church.
Happy Easter!!
