Pollen is blowing around Greensboro fast and furiously these days. If you get to your car and it is covered with yellow haze, you have fallen victim to Greensboro's pollen. In the above photo, you see the making of pollen on a pine tree. Yesterday's rain has given us a bit of a reprieve; however, expect more blooming and when plants bloom, pollen circulates. If you want to keep up with pollen levels in Greensboro and throughout the United States, you can actually go to pollen.com for allergy forecasts! Here is the specific map for Greensboro. We will be in red, high alert Friday, peak on Saturday, and on Sunday, the levels will fall again. Somehow, if you have allergies, we're betting your nose is a pretty good gauge of the amount of pollen in the air. According to pollentec.com, Greensboro is #3 on the top ten cities for allergies in the US. The upside of being in such a green city is the beauty, the downside is the pollen!
It's not a problem for me, but one of my cousins has a wife with springtime allergies.
