This is what "almost spring" looks like in a college town. This coed on roller blades was zooming down North Elm Street with a friend this past weekend. We could only photograph one at a time as they were not skating that close together. Tis the season for running shorts, sunglasses, and a fast way to get from point A to point B. The Greensboro area has 2 universities, 3 colleges, and a community college with at least 3 campuses. That is a lot of higher education and a lot of students coming off of spring break, enjoying the nice weather, and trying their hardest to stay focused for the next month or so.
Fossil fuel-less modes of transportation can be great; however, they can also be dangerous. As all of our students roll into spring, we're wishing them a strong finish and being mindful of their surroundings- good advice for all of us! Happy day before spring, everyone! Keep spring fever at bay.
happy spring!! when we were in charlottesville, also a college town, a lot of the students were riding bikes...which as a mom made me nervous for the kids out there with the terrible traffic and tiny roads!

It will still be awhile until roller blades and shorts are possible here. The snow isn't going anywhere while it's below freezing.
