The house at 1101 Virginia Street at Bessemer Avenue looks so calm and peaceful with its white lights, displayed during the advent season. As the crow flies, it is dead center between Green Hill Cemetery and Moses Cone Hospital, just south of Wendover on the edge of Fisher Park. The 1913 Craftsman style bungalow in charming and well-maintained. The simplicity of the white lights, against the architectural details of the house, create great ambiance.
We stumbled on this view while walking in the neighborhood looking for a house down the street. As we walked by the owners came out, carrying what appeared to be luminarias to their car. The couple was ever so helpful in our finding our way. Mission accomplished, walking back to the car, we just stood there, amazed at how calm and silent it was on this corner lot- quietly, hidden, in the middle of everything.
This is very pretty. I especially like the symmetry of the trees.
