When the above blue Pontiac pulled into the parling lot of the Persimmon Festival last month, heads turned. What a Pontiac moment! There was something so charming about the simplicity of this old car. The gentleman in the photo was admiring the engine, studying it with the intensity of an automotive engineer. We took a more romantic approach, dreaming of filling the trunk with Christmas gifts and driving around town distributing them.
The above car looks like a late 1940's model. Pontiac was introduced to General Motors in 1926 and was a defunct line by 2010. So, it fits somewhere on that timeline. While Greensboro doesn't have a Pontiac club, there is one in Guilford County, in High Point, known as the North Carolina Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI). We're betting the owner of the above vehicle is a member!
As we screech into the next to the last weekend before Christmas, we're hoping you find time to enjoy friends and loved ones and make the most of every moment you are out driving around. Lets raise our glasses to the blue Pontiac and hope nobody has a blue Christmas.
I don't think I've ever seen that kind of car before. It's a beauty.
