The above photo of Bethany Community Church of Sedalia is so typical of the rural churches in our part of North Carolina. There is beauty in the simplicity of the A-frame façade with the steeple. The lingering, nearly-spent tree in front mimics the beauty of some of the paritioners who, too, have grown up with the church. As we continue in the advent season, focusing on the story of the birth of Christ, let us take time to remember that some of the nicest things in life are the simplest, like a country church and a gangly tree.
Sedalia is a short ride out East Wendover Avenue towards Burlington. This multi-cultural religious organization, known as Bethany Community and also Fill My Cup Space, is pastored by Dr. Hanry L. Simmons has both a local and cyber-faith community. If you are looking for a non-denominational Christ/Bible/God-based religious community that embraces people from all walks of life, this just might be the church for you. To be sure, we have many choices in Greensboro and the surrounding area. Happy Sunday, dear readers.
Quite a pretty church!
