During our outing to Oak Ridge, we stopped by K & T Auto and Cycle Services at 2103 Oak Ridge Road. Daily, clients (and passersby) are greeted by this little man, a work of art welded out of scrap metal. He lives by the side of the road and serves as a landmark that you are at K & T.
In many businesses where people use tools, you find art. In the glassmaking industry, you have what is known as end-of-the-day glass where glassblowers make unique pieces with the scraps of leftover glass. Often, these pieces are one-of-a-kind. We're betting somebody at K&T with a lot of energy and artistic talent makes these little scrap figures at the end of the day. Maybe the artist makes yard art on the side. Country art, on the side of the road, is classic Americana. Happy Tuesday.
Rather whimsical!
