The Middle College on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (MC@UNCG) has a tradition of holding summer camp for incoming freshmen. Since students come to the middle college from all over Guilford County (there is no specific attendance zone), having team building events is a way for students to develop a sense of community. The above photo shows a crime scene that students analyzed in order to try to solve the crime. The week's activities introduce the rising freshmen to forensic science and the engineering design process. This design process is important, epsecially since MC@UNCG is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathmatics (STEM) focused school.
The above photo was taken in the HHP building where the "crime" was reported to have taken place. These camps always prove to be successful for getting the beginning of the year off to a great start. Today is ABC Wednesday and for our STEAM series (the "a" is for incorporating arts)...... F is for forensics.
that's gotta be an interesting job, although i don't think i could handle it!
