The family at 104 North Holden has blessed Greensboro with another holiday lawn decoration. The house, located between Friendly Avenue and Market Street and across from the Starmount Country Club, diligently decorates for every holiday. In the above photo we see plywood cutouts to symbolize the meaning of Memorial Day. The bugler, the flags, and the tombstone send the message loud and clear. It is a day to remember the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Let's all go out of our way today to thank a veteran- even if you are far from home.
If you stayed in Greensboro this weekend, you are avoiding the traffic of nearly a million North Carolinians who will make a road trip. According to AAA, that is the most since 2005. Speaking of driving, if you drive by 104 North Holden with your car windows down, you can almost hear taps being played. If you read this before 8:00 am, you can go to Friendly Center at 8:00 am to see the ceremony at the flagpole.
Don't forget that Saturday will be the dedication of the Field of Honor in Kernersville.
