Hope you had a chance to participate in Greensboro's First Friday last night. The above photo was taken at the Mellow Mushroom on South Elm Street, downtown. Not only is the Mellow Mushroom a great place to eat, it is a super place to take photos! Here is a picture we took there in March 2009, about three months after they opened. Five years later, we're still finding great things to photograph there. The above photo was taken outside, at dusk. You can see the lights and stained glass on the inside and, on the outside, the reflection of the trees and the building across the street.
If you like lots of color and whole-wheat pizza, the Mellow Mushroom is a great place to visit. If you like zen, understated food and surroundings, you just might want to view from afar. Hopefully, there is room in your life for both extremes. Regardless, our friends at Weekend Reflections will love this view. Their meme inspires us to be a little playful on the weekend. Stop by their blog and wish the Eiffel Tower a happy 125th birthday. Here's to a great day around town, regardless of where you life. Here's to peace, love, and feelin' groovy.*
*Get in your groovy mood by watching this 2 minute Simon and Garfunkel video clip from their 1966 hit!
Even here in a much colder April, our ArtWalk was a well attended event last evening. Temps in 40's that helped. Like your lanterns.

Lovely but thanks so much for making me smile and sing today! I need to dig out my S&G CD. I'd forgotten how much I loved them!
