We wanted to start the week with another shot of the magic of the December, First-Friday event. This is a view of downtown Greensboro on South Elm Street, just over the railroad tracks near the 500 block. Literally, it was a crowd of curb to curb people. We overheard one man chuckle and say to his friend, "why are we walking on the sidewalk?" We don't remember the balloon arch in previous years, but is was such a nice touch as it soared over the highest point on Elm Street, the hilly little area near Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
To the left, you can see the Indie Market. The weather was so warm, it wasn't even necessary to wear a coat. Between the great advertisement, the fabulous events, and the great weather, we're betting that First Friday 2013 was the best attended yet. There were activities for people of all ages. The Polar Express ride was a big hit with the children. Parents liked gallery hopping with the appetizers and spirits. Everyone enjoyed strolling along South Elm. The above photo captures just a small slice of life in a giant and memorable evening. December is shaping up to be a fabulous month in Greensboro.
