Today, the men of the Israelite Church of God in Jesus Christ, Inc. were spreading the word on South Elm Street, near the International Civil Rights Museum. The church is headquarted in New York City on Madison Avenue. However, they have contact numbers in Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point. Their premise is that African-Americans are actually "the real Hebrew Israelites (Jews)." The Israelite Church takes their scripture from the King James version of the Bible. They assert that "all of the prophets that wrote the Bible were so-called Negroid or so-called Indian descent. " We try to represent as many religions as possible on our Sunday spiritual posts and have to admit that we don't know much about this particular Christian religion. As the wise, old sages of the North Carolina mountains like to say, "We'll need to study on that."
