The way to the Studio at CTG and the Herman and Barbara Cone Family Education and Event Center is paved with yellow "bricks." The bricks, on the wall of 520 South Elm Street, have the names of community members who have helped make this facility happen. CTG has just started phase two of their brick campaign. After 64 seasons, CTG is in its first permanent home. That is exciting news for Greensboro.
CTG has a great line up of plays this season. They've recently closed Smoky Joe's Cafe. In 2014, they'll present To Kill a Mocking Bird; Legally Blonde: The Musical; 9-5, The Musical; and The Wizard of Oz. Having been founded in 1949, Community Theatre of Greensboro is the oldest arts organization in Guilford County.* It is heartwarming to know that our community has been able to sustain GTG this many years. They really have some great performances and contribute significantly to the community, not only from the aspect of the audiences but from the participants as well. Hope to see you either watching or trying out for something. Hope to see your name on the yellow brick wall.
I noticed in their mailing that they have quite an impressive schedule this year. They'll have my support, especially for "To Kill a Mockingbird."

Very impressive. Have you been to a production?

Not since they landed their new location. I used to attend Wizard of Oz every year!
