It was a totally beautiful weekend in Greensboro and the surrounding area. Once you get beyond the point that we really do need rain, it was a fabulous day to hang out, sent the 17 DAYS ARTS GREENSBORO FESTIVAL out with a bang, hear great music, and enjoy the food trucks on Spring Garden Street. It was also a great day to head to Belews Lake North of Greensboro.
Belews Lake is a 3,800 acre lake north of Greensboro that has been open since 1973. Duke Energy uses it to help cool the coal-burning power plant. It is one the closest lakes to Greensboro that allows recreational water sports. It is a great place to spend the afternoon out on the water. When you go there, you will see people jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, fishing, and zipping from cove to cove in their boats. The above photo was taken on the Carolina Marina side of the lake.
The weather stations keep hinting that fall is just around the corner. And, leaves have started changing colors all around us. However, for what may be one last, glorious weekend, we got to pretend like it was summer all over again. Is this periwinkle blue sky with puffy white clouds and still, blue waters not a sight to behold? Happy Monday.
