Happy Halloween and Trick or Treat! Tonight is the bewitching night. In Greensboro, the growing trend is to offer community-based events for children such as trunk-or-treats. From churches to shopping centers, people work hard to provide fun, candy-filled events for children. Four Seasons Town Centre will have a Halloween Kidfest from 6-8pm tonight. If you like house-to-house events, yards, like the one on Deep Green Drive, off of Bryan Blvd., should be brimming with spooky decorations.
The important thing is to keep chidren safe by having an adult walk accompany them, avoiding going into people's homes, staying in neighborhoods where you know people, and wearing costumes that don't impede walking. Also, remember not to go into a business establishment wearing a mask. We know a teenager who got banned from a retail establishment for a year for entering wearing a morph suit. Places might not be as strict on Halloween, but better safe than sorry. The above photo, taken in the suburbs of Greensboro, features North Carolina's state tree- the dogwood- along with a creepy skeleton mask that will glow in the dark after the sun goes down. Since Halloween on a Thursday, the holiday should be pretty tame. Regardless, on Friday, students will arrive at school tired and full of SUGAR!
(Also, sorry about yesterday's post, it didn't go live until about 11:30 am. Forgive the technical glitch. At least it got published).
