Share the Harvent is an organization that helps connect people and organizations with extra harvested food to people in the community who need food. Currently, there are 11 collection sites in the Greensboro area. The different places and times of day for collection make donating earier. If you have produce to share, please take it to one of the designated places and place your produce in a bin. Ultimately, the harvest in taken to the Interactive Resource Center, where it gets sorted and distributed where it needs to be.
The above photo was seen in the 300 block of South Elm Street. How wonderful that these resources are available in our community. As the summer crops draw to a close this season, if you have extra of something, please send it to Share the Harvest! Read their website on optimal conditions for storing fruits and vegetables and learn what to do to keep the produce fresh as long as possibe-- whether you plan to donate or not!
