If you go in the Green Bean Coffee House, you might do a double take. A cardboard, almost-life-size image of Councilperson Nancy Hoffman greets you at the front door. She seems to be well liked by her constituents. One commented that she worked diligently to keep Duke Power from agressively cutting trees in her neighborhoods. Another, sent us this link to testimonials. Nancy is running for reelection, in District 4, against Bill Knight and John Alexander Underwood.* May the best candidate win.
Greensboro will be seeing a lot more of these catchy campaign ads with elections less than three months away. Do you know who else is running for city council? Do you know your representative? What issues do you have in your neighborhood? Now is the time to push the envelope. Ask. Ask. Ask. While we're a non-political blog, but we would love to feature other novel, CREATIVE campaign items. Let us know if you see any. It is times like election season that Ed Cone is sorely missed. His blog was always so informative and filled with debate by some of Greensboro's most involved citizens. Finally, if you want to see Hoffman in the flesh, head to the city council meeting at 4pm this afternoon in the Melvin Building.
*see who else is running for the non-partisan, city council positions , here.
This looks so real. I thought you had seen her in person, maybe even had a coffee with her!
