Summer is the time of construction, and before construction comes demolition. Above, you see, literally and figuratively, the sun setting on the 50,000 square foot building, formerly the service department of North State Chevrolet, at the corner of West Smith and North Eugene Streets. D.H. Griffin is on site doing demolition duty, alongside Lomax Builders who are preparing to build a four-story building called "Greenway at Stadium Park." * As the name suggests, you should be able to watch the home Grasshoppers' games from the roof of the new apartments. There has been so much construction around Greensboro lately.
If you haven't been here in a while, you will do a double take as you drive around town. Here is a photo of the Greenway at Fisher Park apartments across the street. Oh, wouldn't it be nice to sit beside the pool and watch the new property be constructed before our eyes. You may recall that the Greenway rest stop is currently being built just down the street (here) and Deep Roots Co-op is just across the street. We'll print another photo when the project is completed. Happy Friday, dear readers. If you get a chance this weekend, drive down West Smith Street and see this desert-looking landscape and watch construction in process.
