West Lee Street is changing before our eyes! Today's photo is not very glamorous; however, it shows the construction taking place at the edge of the Glenwood neighborhood at the 900 block of West Lee. This area is very close to UNCG and where the University has a big redevelopment project in process (read more here). At one time, Oakland Avenue used to define the southern boundary of UNCG; not the case any more. We hope that the Glenwood neighborhood and the University work together to keep both entities happy, because the area is growing and looking very upscale.
If you get a chance, drive along West Lee Street this weekend. You will be amazed at the changes. Construction projects are abundant throughout Greensboro these days, not only near UNCG, but in the community at large. Should we conclude that the local economy is improving? Regardless, have a great weekend in our great city and take advantage of some of the staycation options mentioned in Biz Journals this week!
Can't wait to see the finished product.
