Sundays, we try to post something religious or spiritual.* Sometimes it is a house of worship; sometimes it is a view of nature. This week, we share a photo of the most recent City Market- an event which pops up the third Thursday of the month, between Barnhart and Lewis Streets. During last Thursday's City Market, music was playing as were children. Adults were shopping, relaxing with friends and family, and enjoying the sights and sounds of our city.
Throughout the nation, this week has brought heavy conversations over Trayvon Martin's death, the results of the trial, and the fact that not all Americans feel truly equal and equally safe. Even President Obama weighed in on the matter. In memory of Trayvon Martin, several people in Greensboro assembled on West Market street yesterday. It is hard to know what it will take for our Nation to come together and truly feel like one Nation.
Seeing the musicians and the children in the above photo is uplifting. All were having a blast, enjoying not only the event, but also each other. We can only hope that our youngest generation will have an equal chance to have equal lives. Perhaps the answer is to play, love, pray. Together.
