Today's photo is looking towards Wendover Avenue from Church Street at Bessemer. Just to the right is the bridge leading to the Aycock Historic District and Summit Avenue. To the left is the eastern edge of Fisher Park. In the background, you can see a professional medical building. This part of Church Street is filled with medical offices. This vantage point is at the crossroads of East Greensboro and the downtown area. Here is another view of the same area.
Bessemer used to be the gateway to Greensboro before Wendover was built. It is a lot of fun on the weekends to drive around these areas and see all of the growth and changes in the city. When the Office Depot opened a few years ago, the families in the Aycock Historic District were thrilled to see the lot being used for an office supply center. Stop by and check out this part of town if you haven't been over here lately. Regardless of what you end up doing, have a great Saturday and, as always, thank you for reading Greensboro Daily Photo.
Thanks for you insights into your beautiful city.
