Sometimes weather reports are accurate. Yesterday was one such day. In Greensboro, as predicted, early afternoon, the icy rains descended. Windshields froze over about as fast as one could pull off the road and scrape them. Getting home was harrowing. Fortunately, the public schools closed three hours early and it seemed as if most busses were off the road well before dark. The low only dropped to about 21 degrees; however, it seemed much colder.
The record cold temperature, ever in Greensboro, over the last 77 years, is a temperature of minus eight degrees.* We don't expect those below-zero temperatures any time soon; but it sure feels like it. As for the GDP family, we made a big pot of chicken and vegetable soup and just stayed inside. As for today, we're anxious to get outside and take some pictures! How about you? What have you been up to? What plans do you have?
