Center City Park will be brimming with families today. The Greensboro Public Library and Casa Azul are bringing us another great day in the park from 12- 6 pm. Mexican children's author and illustrator Marcos Almada Rivero will be reading over the course of the weekend. His books look like so much fun, rather like Maurice Sendack's Where the Wild Things Are meets Indiana Jones....full of adventure with a message-- delightfully illustrated.
There will be salsa dancing, art activities, food, face paining and more. Likely, the library will have their fancy bus open for perusal. This is the fourth year of the event that celebrates the diversity in our community and to brings people of all ethnicities together.
See a photo from the first year of the event here and another photo of the event here and read more about the event here. Head on out and let us know what you think!
I did not know there was a large Hispanic population in Greensboro. Thank you for turning me toward a great, new to me,author! Mr Rivero's art is darling and evocative. I have just enough Spanish/spanglish to get through a children's book!
