Cranes for Japan

The Greensboro Origami Project is trying to make 1,000 cranes for Japan. Today, we share a window full of origami cranes, seen in the window of the Green Bean Coffee House at 341 South Elm Street. The Origami Peace Memorial is intended to be a memorial for the Japanese families and businesses that are rebuilding and trying to move forward after the tsunami. The one year anniversary of this terrible event was March 11th. See the project's facebook page here. In the meantime, if you have a minute, head to 341 South Elm Street and fold a crane or two. It looks like Greensboro has a little way to go in the folding department. We're not at 1,000.... yet. Regardless, such a nice gesture.
