Merrill Lynch is the wealth management part of Bank of America. The company was founded as a Wall Street company in 1914. The above Merrill Lynch office is located near Women's Hospital in Greensboro on Green Valley Road. Green Valley is a 'cut through' road, connecting Battleground Avenue with Friendly Center, Friendly Avenue, Market Street, and Wendover. Green Valley is pretty busy during the work week and can look like a ghost town on the weekends. Are you more of a fan of newer glass and steel buildings, or are you more partial to old, brick buildings? We have both in Greensboro.
The above photo was taken as part of our 'glass buildings' series as we want to show the world that Greensboro has modern architecture, too. We love the way the building looks almost as if it is floating across an ocean of clouds. The clouds, reflected in the glass, add intrigue to the building. The clouds also resemble steam being emitted from a steamboat.
We're hoping workers are inside managing everyone's money well!
I also thought this building looked as if it were a ship sailing from the park it is moored in. Made me think of the Monty Python skit of the sailing financial building.
