The 200 block of South Elm Street, between Schiffman's & Chakras, has a couple of new kids on the block. LOAF is a bakery that moved in to assume the shop formerly occupied by Simple Kneads. They specialize in artisan breads but also sell pasteries, granola, and coffee. The acronym LOAF stands for local, original, artisan and fresh. Méchelle's is a clothing store at 227 South Elm. Méchelle's sells an interesting assortment of clothing, shoes, and scarves. Both stores seem to be well received by people who shop downtown. They are a perfect for the old-world charm of the vintage buildings that house them.
We're sharing them with Weekend Reflections. Happy weekend, folks. It has arrived......
What a charming little store. Those artisan breads sound good too. It's nice to know what's going on downtown for those of us who don't get down there too often
