President Obama is in Greensboro today. The above 2008 photo shows a student on Tate Street in front of New York Pizza near UNCG's campus and just west of Greensboro College. The student had just come from hearing the then-campaigning Obama deliver a speech downtown, outside, and to our citizens-at-large. Today, President Obama will speak by invitation only at the Jamestown campus of GTCC. We're hoping our recently-featured Dr. Kinard will be in attendance. Not only is his office on the Jamestown campus but, previously, he was a broadcast journalist. If anyone deserves an opportunity to hear the President, it is Dr. Kinard. As a matter of fact, if you click back through to his photo (here), Dr. Kinard is looking rather presidential himself!
The student in the above photo, who was texting his friends about the event, also got to attend President Obama's inauguration. Maybe someday, at Greensboro Daily Photo, we will be fortunate enough to attend some of these events. If only City Daily Photo could generate press credentials! Seriously though, if you get to hear President Obama speak in while he is in North Carolina please let us know.
If this were Facebook, I'd click on "like."

What if it was Mr. Putin to visit Greensboro? Well, it would be better to send him to Venezuela.. )))
