Happy Monday! Today, we bring you Caldwell Academy, a K-12 Christian school that uses the classical model of education, specifically, the Trivium. The Trivium teaches in three stages: Grammar, dialectic, rhetoric. (If you are interested in knowing more about this centuries-old model of teaching, it is explained on Caldwell's website). The school started in 1984 through the vision of a group of parents interested in a Christian/classical school environment for their children. August 1995 was the first year of operation. Their facility, located on Horse Pen Creek Road, continues to expand, almost yearly. The school was named after Guilford County's Revolutionary War era hero David Caldwell who was an educator, minister, farmer, statesman, physician, and family man! He was one of Greensboro's 18th century "Renaissance" citizens. If the students at Caldwell Academy are educated to the standards of Dr. Caldwell, for sure they will be prepared for the 21st century!
This is not the most flattering photo of the stunning Caldwell Academy; however, it represents the energy and excitement as the Senior Class of 2011 prepares to graduate. The rock in the lower right hand corner says "Here we come" on the front and "thesis [check]" on the back.
