Saturdays are a perfect time to catch up on yard work and AB SEED at the Piedmont Triad Farmers' Market on Sandy Ridge is a great place to go to kick start your yardening. In addition to great plants, they also specialize in fountains and other hardscaping. AB SEED, formerly known as Summit Lawn and Garden, has been open since 1956. However, stuck in the 20th century they are not! In addition to their main website, AB SEED has a blog and a Facebook page.
On the checkout counter, front row center at AB SEED, is one of their store kitties. He is basking in the comfort of a box and in the affection of an associate. Usually, cats meander through the plants, pavers, and pebbles daring voles & mice to enter the property. As seen in the photo above, mid-day is prime NAPTIME for the feline friends. They should add to the back of their t-shirts: Compost, plants and napping cats-- happen.... here!
If we get a chance, we'll link this to Camera Critters.
You're so right. For me, there's no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I really enjoy checking out the plants and garden paraphernalia and if there's a farmers' market nearby... well, all the better.

What a great idea to have the cats there to keep a watchful eye on the place.

Oh, rubbing the tummy of a cat is one of my favorite things, but please don't tell my dog!
