Since we mentioned McDonald's on Saturday and yesterday we featured another larger than life character, today, we bring you Ronald McDonald. Ronald seems to have been inspired by "The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe." The photo dates back to January when Ronald and the Giant Shoe wheeled down Martin Luther King Drive for the MLK parade. Maybe McDonald's are quick to support the Greensboro Community because the first McDonald's Restaurant in North Carolina* opened in Greensboro in 1959 on Summit Avenue. Last year, we featured that McDonald's here.
In the above photo, Ronald is pointing to beautiful, thriving downtown Greensboro. He also happens to be pointing in the direction of the street we will feature tomorrow, the "M" in our ABC Wednesday street collection. Do stop back. Finally, we would be remiss if we didn't share this photo with our friends at Ruby Tuesday where they just can't seem to get enough RED!
*thank you for catching this error Roch!

Thanks for catching the error Roch. Our editor worked the midnight shift last night and didn't catch this omission! Greensboro had the first McDonald's Restaurant in NORTH CAROLINA, not in the world!
This is an example of why formal media sources like newspapers, radio, and television, with reporters and writers reporting to editors, are so important!
